Study abroad FAQs

Answers to the questions Indian students ask most about studying abroad.

Still unsure?

A counsellor answers your questions for free.

Start 12–18 months before your intake. That gives you time to shortlist countries, take IELTS or GRE, prepare your SOP and recommendation letters, apply for scholarships and complete the visa process without rushing.
It depends on your course, budget and career plans. The USA leads for STEM and research, the UK and Ireland offer one-year master's degrees, Canada and Australia offer clear post-study work options, and Germany has low or no tuition at public universities.
Tuition usually ranges from almost nothing at German public universities to ₹50 lakh a year at top US private universities. Add living costs of roughly ₹8–16 lakh a year depending on the city. Scholarships, assistantships and part-time work can reduce the total.
Most universities in English-speaking countries ask for an English test. IELTS is the most widely accepted, but TOEFL, PTE and the Duolingo English Test are also accepted by many universities. Some universities waive the test if your previous education was in English.
Most popular destinations allow part-time work during term and full-time work during breaks, subject to visa rules. Limits differ by country and change from time to time, so check the current rules before you travel.
Typically: academic transcripts, English test scores, GRE/GMAT/SAT scores if required, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, a CV, passport, and proof of funds for the visa.
Yes. Universities offer merit scholarships, and there are government-funded awards such as Fulbright-Nehru (USA), Chevening (UK), DAAD (Germany) and Australia Awards. Applying early improves your chances.
Your first counselling session is free. An advisor reviews your profile, suggests countries and universities that fit your budget, and explains the application and visa steps.
